The South Florida Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization located in Miami, Florida. Founded in 1992, it is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of abused, neglected and abandoned horses and other livestock. The organization also educates the community about responsible animal care, animal ownership and promotes the welfare of animals through local and national advocacy. South Florida SPCA works in partnership with local law enforcement, and receives partial funding from Miami-Dade Animal Services (MDAS).
Why we contribute: We support the horse rescue because of volunteers who dedicate countless hours to their welfare. We sponsor a race at Gulfstream.
To conserve and restore South Florida ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife and their habitats. Protect native plants, indigenous species and the environment by promoting wise stewardship of habitat and natural resources. Cultivate a better understanding of, and appreciation for, Nature, the environment and ecological relationships. Bring together those with shared interests for pleasurable outings and events that showcase our Steinberg Nature Center and other treasured South Florida habitats. Our core region is comprised of Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, wherein we focus on water quality and habitat sustainability in Biscayne Bay, Florida Bay and the Everglades.
Why we contribute: We strongly feel that we need to be aware, enjoy and protect the wildlife in our area.
Saving tropical plant diversity by exploring, explaining and conserving the world of tropical plants; fundamental to this task is inspiring a greater knowledge and love for plants and gardening so that all can enjoy the beauty and bounty of the tropical world.
Why we contribute: The Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden has been recognized as the world’s best tropical botanic garden for several years. We are privileged to have this garden near our home and we have been members for several years as well as sponsors for the Gala in the Garden and the Holiday Music Program.
Yellowstone Forever Institute connects people to Yellowstone through outstanding visitor experiences and educational programs, and translates those experiences into lifelong support and philanthropic investment to conserve and enhance the park for the future. Our educational programming, products, and services help people enjoy, understand, and appreciate the wildlife, geology, and cultural history of the park. The opportunities Yellowstone Forever provides for volunteerism and community relations develop and engage new stewards for the park. Through thoughtful cultivation and stewardship of people who love the park, Yellowstone Forever is building a broad network of philanthropic supporters dedicated to preserving the park.
Why we contribute: This is a magnificent part of the USA. It is a truly God’s country. This unique landscape needs to be maintained and appreciated.
